Epic Seafood BBQ: Mastering a Giant 3.5 kg Octopus!

n this video, we tackle the art of preparing and grilling a massive 3.5 kg octopus, Greek style! We begin by boiling the whole octopus in water with a splash of vinegar until it's perfectly tender. Then, we separate the tentacles, ready them for grilling, and fire up the BBQ. Watch as we grill the tentacles to smoky perfection and serve them up with a traditional Greek touch: a drizzle of olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and a sprinkle of oregano.

Instructions
 

  • remove the beak from the octopus
  • in a big pot with simmering water add a splash of vinegar, that will help soften the octopus
  • add the octopus in the pot
  • place the lid and let it cook for approximately 15 minutes, depending on size and weight
  • once ready lift it up and place it over to the cutting board
  • cut the head off and then seperate from the center the tentacles
  • start the barbecue on all five burners at medium temperature 250℃-482℉
  • spray the grill with olive oil
  • place the tentacles and the head on the grill to get a nice sear on all sides
  • ready to serve on a plate with a drizzle of olive oil, a bit of pepper, some really good mountain oregano and lemon
