Ingredients
- 2 bottle of red wine
- 110 ml dark rum
- 150 gr of sugar
- 2 sticks of cinnamon
- 6 cloves
- 12-14 strokes of grated nutmeg
- 2 pieces orange peel
- 2 piece lemon peel
- 15 ml vanilla extract
- 2 slices of ginger optional
- juice of 1 orange
Instructions
- in a pot add 150 gr. of sugar, 2 sticks of cinnamon, 6 cloves, grated nutmeg, 2 peels of orange, 2 peels of lemon, the juice of 1 orange, 15 ml of vanilla extract, 350 ml of red wine and optionally 2 pieces of ginger
- bring it up to a simmer
- when it starts simmering bring it up to a boil until the sugar has dissolved and reduced to a thick syrup
- add the rest of the wine 1½ bottle
- warm it up on medium low temperature until it reaches 58℃- 136℉ and keep it there for about 3-4 minutes
- add 110 ml dark rum
- give it a quick stir
- take an orange peel, twist it and rub the edge of your glass
- add a slice of orange in half
- sprinkle some grated nutmeg on top
- ready to serve
