The Perfect Mushroom Sauce For Your Steaks
New York strip steaks are always good. Serving them with this Mushroom Sauce takes it to a whole other level of perfection.

Ingredients
- New York strip steaks
- sea salt
Mushroom Sauce
- 500 g brown button mushrooms
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 shallots diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 250 ml red wine
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 700 ml broth, chicken or beef
- 300 ml cream
- 2 tbsp thyme
- 2 pinches black pepper
- sea salt to taste
Instructions
Strip Steak Preparation
- take a grate and place it inside a baking pan
- add on the grate the steaks and coat them with salt on both sides
- place the steaks, uncovered, in the fridge for 1 hour
Mushroom Sauce
- remove the stems from the mushrooms
- slice the mushrooms
- in a shallow pot add the olive oil
- add the diced shallots and let them caramelise over low heat
- add the minced garlic
- add the mushrooms and give it a good stir until they turn brown
- add the wine to deglaze the pan and let the alcohol evaporate
- add the soy sauce
- add the broth of your choice and bring it to shimmer
- add the heavy cream
- add the thyme, black pepper and sea salt
- cook it until the sauce thickens
Strip Steak Cooking
- take the stakes out of the fridge and reverse sear until internal temperature reaches 51℃
- turn on all the burners on the grill until the grates are hot
- sear the steaks off
- ready to serve
