Perfect Pulled Pork - without a smoker!
Pulled pork is one of our favourite BBQ recipes and this one is adapted so you can make it in your oven, no need for a smoker and you still get the nice smoky BBQ flavor we all love in a good pulled pork. Bonus it is not sweet, no sugar added.

Equipment
- 1 Dutch Oven
Ingredients
- 3.5 kg Boston Butt or pork neck
Dry rub
- 2 tbsp sea salt
- 2 tbsp cumin
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp mustard powder
- 1 tbsp paprika
Bracing liquid
- 2 cans beer
- 150 ml apple cider vinegar
- 100 ml ketjap manis
- 1 can chipotle in adobo sauce
- 3 cloves garlic
- ginger as much as you like
- 1-2 tsp liquid smoke
Instructions
Dry Rub
- In a jar add the salt
- add the cumin
- add the black pepper
- add the mustard powder
- add the paprika
- mix it all up
- spread it all over the meat and let it on the side
- take the dutch oven add a can of beer
- add the apple cider vinegar
- add the ketjap manis
- add the chipotle in adobo sauce
- add the garlic
- add the ginger
- add the liquid smoke and give it a good mix
- place the meat in the dutch oven and make sure that is not submerged
- place it in the oven at 150℃ - 302℉ for 2½ - 3 hours
- once cooked take it out and cover it with foil for 30 minutes
- take the sauce from the dutch oven and strain it in a pan
- add apple cider vinegar and 2 limes
- bring it to shimmer and let it reduce a little bit
- shred the meat
- add the sauce to the meat and ready to serve
